經過近一年的積極洽談與交流，醫學院與日本熊本大學於9月17日正式簽訂博士班雙聯學位合約，進一步深化兩校在人才培育與學術研究上的合作。此次簽約不僅象徵雙方長期交流的具體成果，也為兩校未來推動跨校人才培育及研究合作奠定更深厚的基礎
此次簽約由高雄醫學大學余明隆校長、醫學院盧柏樑院長、醫學研究所孫昭玲所長、臨床醫學研究所黃書彬所長，以及附設醫院戴嘉言副院長、黃志富主任組成代表團，共同與熊本大學進行交流並完成簽約。簽約儀式中，由盧柏樑院長、孫昭玲所長及黃書彬所長代表高醫大簽署雙聯學位合約，展現兩校在研究人才培育及國際學術合作上的共同承諾。
簽約儀式後，雙方亦隨即展開研究交流，由本院孫所長、黃所長，以及熊本大學Prof. Jun-ichiro Yasunaga、Prof. Yuichi Oike分別分享研究成果，針對癌症分子流行病學、病毒致癌與精準醫學、環境暴露與過敏性氣喘，以及慢性發炎、細胞壓力與健康老化等研究議題進行學術交流。透過研究成果分享與專業討論，雙方不僅深入了解彼此的研究方向，也進一步探索未來跨校合作與共同研究的可能性
從人才培育到研究交流，此次博士班雙聯學位的簽訂，讓兩校的合作由既有的學術往來進一步延伸至更具體、長期的人才培育與研究合作。期盼未來雙方能持續發揮各自的研究優勢，拓展更多跨領域、跨國的合作機會，讓兩校的學術交流更加緊密，共同培育新世代國際醫學研究人才，攜手開創高醫大與熊本大學學術合作的新篇章
After nearly a year of discussions and exchanges, KMU and Kumamoto University officially signed a Dual Degree Agreement for doctoral programs on September 17, further strengthening collaboration between the two universities in talent development and academic research. The signing marks a concrete achievement of the long-standing partnership between the two institutions and lays a stronger foundation for future collaboration in cross-institutional talent development and research.
The KMU delegation, comprising KMU President Ming-Lung Yu, Dean Po-Liang Lu of the College of Medicine, Director Jau-Ling Suen of the Graduate Institute of Medicine, Director Shu-Pin Huang of the Graduate Institute of Clinical Medicine, Vice Superintendent Chia-Yen Dai of KMU Hospital, and Director Jee-Fu Huang, visited Kumamoto University for academic exchange and the signing ceremony. During the ceremony, Dean Lu, Director Suen, and Director Huang represented KMU in signing the Dual Degree Agreement, demonstrating the shared commitment of both universities to advancing research talent development and international academic collaboration.
Following the signing ceremony, both sides immediately engaged in academic research exchange. Director Suen and Director Huang from KMU, together with Prof. Jun-ichiro Yasunaga and Prof. Yuichi Oike of Kumamoto University, presented their respective research findings and exchanged insights on topics including the molecular epidemiology of prostate cancer, viral oncogenesis and precision medicine, environmental exposures and allergic asthma, as well as chronic inflammation, cellular stress, and healthy longevity. Through research presentations and professional discussions, the two sides gained a deeper understanding of each other's research interests and expertise while exploring potential opportunities for future cross-institutional collaboration and joint research.
From talent development to research exchange, the signing of the Dual Degree Agreement represents an important step in extending the existing academic partnership between KMU and Kumamoto University toward more concrete and long-term collaboration in education and research. Looking ahead, both universities are expected to build upon their respective strengths, expand opportunities for interdisciplinary and international collaboration, and further strengthen academic exchange. Through these efforts, KMU and Kumamoto University will work together to nurture the next generation of internationally minded medical researchers and open a new chapter in their academic partnership.
